Use Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance as an opportunity to solve additional problems, and to upgrade infrastructure to meet other business objectives at the same time.
Generally, a Sarbanes-Oxley compliance effort will start with a focus on processes and procedures, not infrastructure. But you may be able to make a good business case for upgrading infrastructure to support improved controls and reporting.

You shouldn’t. It is a horrible regulatory overreation by people who don’t understand the industry in a feeble and failed attempt to control it as well as a dead-weight loss to companies who need to fund it for no gain to themselves or society. . In my professional opinion, it has proven to be a complete failure and will be completely replaced after the government realizes you can’t police a technical industry with non-technical people and controls This control should be scrapped completely.
